Waka Flocka and The Dream Foundation Fulfill Wish For Terminally Ill Fan
Hip-hop artist Waka Flocka Flame fulfilled a fan's dream Tuesday when the Dream Foundation flew in Phillip Scott Dawson, a terminally ill boy, and his mother Donyale Fair Dawson to Atlanta, GA.
Waka Flocka Flame went a step further however and took Phillip and Donyale to New York City for the 2011 BET Awards announcements where he introduced Phillip to the media.
Phillip suffers from Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Unbeknownst to many Flocka is passionate about giving back to his fans and granted another fan their dying wish earlier this year, to meet him.
Philadelphia rapper Cassidy has been released from jail, after being arrested for a probation violation last week.
Cassidy was arrested by police in Hackensack, New Jersey on May 14th, after Philadelphia police issue a warrant for the rapper, claiming he violated his probation.
Although initial reports stated that Cassidy was a suspect in a murder and a possible suspect in two other attempted murders, those reports have turned out to be inaccurate.
"GOD is great! I just touch down! Feeling better than ever! Down [sic] believe everything you hear.. I'm good," Cassidy tweeter early yesterday morning (May 20th).
Cassidy, who didn't exactly shy away from the controversial reports, stated that he was going to be returning to the studio and dropping new music, now that he is free.
"All I do is murder beats, thats why I beat murders...I'm dropping some new music tomorrow," Cassidy said. "Since my name in Ni**as mouth, why not.."
It turns out that Cassidy was arrested simply for failing to check in with his probation officer.
An unrelated complaint was lodged against the rapper, although police have refused to issue details.

Jay-Z's Name Brought Up In Police Escort Investigation
Jay-Z has been named as one of the celebrities that the Washington DC Police Department says may have received unauthorized police escorts.
The DCPD is conducting an internal investigation to see if celebrities such as Jigga, Bill Gates and Charlie Sheen – also named in the investigation – may have obtained police escorts, violating department procedure.
Police Chief Kathy Ranier recently voiced the department's take on the matter saying police escorts are strictly for “presidents, vice presidents, visiting heads of state, mayor and others, if there's a public safety issue.”
As previously reported, the New York police department was recently under a similar investigation after rap mogul Diddy reportedly received an unauthorized police escort to a party following one of his concerts.
Game’s longtime manager, Jimmy Rosemond, is reportedly a fugitive, as a federal arrest warrant is out for the missing Czar Entertainment boss.
Last week, Rosemond, was indicted for his involvement in a cocaine distribution scheme and a warrant for his arrest was issued, according to the New York Post,though Rosemond has not been located. A law enforcement official confirmed to the paper that a fugitive warrant has been issued, but Rosemond’s lawyer, Jeffrey Lichtman, said he has not seen any warrant.
“Although a federal prosecutor has told me that there is an arrest warrant out, they have refused to provide me with the warrant or a copy of the charges,” ” Lichtman told the Post.
Rosemond, who also manages Sean Kingston, has a checkered past that includes beef with Tony Yayo, who allegedly assaulted his then-14-year-old son outside of Czar offices due to a friction between G-Unit and Czar. Yayo was eventually let off the hook for the assault charges when he pleaded guilty to noncriminal harassment.
Last year, New York’s Daily News reported that Rosemond had been identified in court records as a state and police federal informant dating back to the mid-1990s. In fact, then-lawyers referred to his repeated cooperation with authorities when asking for a lesser sentence in Rosemond’s Los Angeles gun case. Rosemond sued the paper for $100 million for libel, denying any of the allegations that he cooperated with the feds.
In Book, Sugar Ray Leonard Says Coach Sexually Abused Him
In his forthcoming autobiography, former professional boxer Sugar Ray Leonardmakes a few unexpected accusations.
In the book entitled “The Big Fight: My Life In and Out of the Ring,” the ex-fighter reveals darker moments in his life, from cocaine use to growing up in a household with domestic violence and alcohol abuse to surviving a car wreck.
Still, the most shocking account in the book is when Leonard reveals that he was sexually abused as a young fighter by a unnamed “prominent Olympic boxing coach.”
According to reports by the New York Times:
Leonard writes that when the coach accompanied him as a 15-year-old and another young fighter to a boxing event in Utica, N.Y., in 1971, he had the teenagers take a bath in a tub of hot water and Epsom salts while he sat on the other side of the bathroom. They suspected “something a bit inappropriate” was occurring but did not want to question a strong male authority figure.
Several years later, Leonard describes sitting in a car in a deserted parking lot across from a recreation center, listening intently as the same coach, said to be in his late 40s, explained how much a gold medal at the 1976 Olympics would mean to his future.
He was flattered, filled with hope, as any young athlete would be. But he writes: “Before I knew it, he had unzipped my pants and put his hand, then mouth, on an area that has haunted me for life. I didn't scream. I didn't look at him. I just opened the door and ran.”
He adds that when he first decided to discuss the incident in the book, which is co-authored with Michael Arkush, he offered a version in which the abuser stopped before there was actual contact.
“That was painful enough,” Leonard writes. “But last year, after watching the actor Todd Bridges bare his soul on Oprah's show about how he was sexually abused as a kid, I realized I would never be free unless I revealed the whole truth, no matter how much it hurt.”
Sugar Ray Leonard's book comes out on June 6th, and it will be interesting to read whatever the boxing Hall of Famer has written in his autobiography.
Cali Swag District member Mante "M-Bone" Talbert, 22, was killed in a weekend drive-by shooting in his hometown of Inglewood, Calif., police said on Monday.
Cali Swag District rose to fame in 2010 with their hit song "Teach Me How to Dougie," inspiring everyone from Wolf Blitzer to NBA star John Wall to show off their own version of the classic dance craze, "the dougie." The group had been recording tracks for an upcoming album in their hometown of Inglewood, when "M-Bone" was shot and killed.
Talbert's manager told ABC News that Talbert was taking a break from the recording session to drive out to a store to get something to drink, when another car pulled up beside him and an unidentified person fired two shots, hitting him in the head.
Inglewood police said Monday that Talbert was found in his car at a liquor store Sunday night, and died at a hospital. Lt. James Madia told the Associated Press the motive for the shooting is still under investigation.
Greg Miller, the group's manager, released a statement Monday saying, "Mante was the comedic entertainer of Cali Swag District and was an inspiration to his family, friends and fans. He was a hardworking, passionate artist and dancer that will be deeply missed."
The statement added that, "What makes this especially sad is that none of the guys have ever been involved in any type of gang activity."
"Nightline" reported on the members of Cali Swag District earlier this year and how they wanting to be positive role models for young kids. We followed them as they visited an elementary school in Rochester, N.Y., in December 2010 to talk to the kids about believing in themselves and achieving their dreams. The members of the group seemed to be kids themselves when they started an impromptu snowball fight and snow angel making contest with the students after school. It was also the first time the group had left Inglewood and saw snow for the first time.

Philadelphia rapper Cassidy has reportedly been arrested by New Jersey cops Saturday (May 14) while traveling in the Garden State on an arrest warrant.
The Philadelphia Police warrant squad called the Hackensack Police Department on Saturday morning to tell officers there was an open warrant for Hackensack resident Barry Reese, also known as the rapper Cassidy, Hackensack police Lt.Timothy Lloyd said.
"The warrant was for violating probation, but Reese is also a suspect in a murder and two attempted murders in Philadelphia, Lloyd said. Philadelphia police knew from a prior investigation that the rapper lived in Hackensack."
Cassidy was reportedly caught off guard when approached and arrested.
Philadelphia police told their Hackensack counterparts "to consider this person armed and dangerous," and this was a "high-risk warrant."
Officers from the Hackensack Police Emergency Response Team and the police department's juvenile bureau watched Reese's home Saturday on Reilly Court.
Reese left his house about 1:30 p.m. and was followed by police to a local convenience store, Lloyd said. An undercover ERT officer went in the store and positively identified Reese, he said. When Reese came out of the store, "the ERT units moved in and conducted a felony motor vehicle stop."
Reese "was very surprised the officers who arrested the rapper "did an outstanding job," he said. "Without the proper teamwork going on, this could have spiraled out of control quickly."
No one was injured in the arrest, Lloyd said. Reese, 28, will be brought to the Bergen County Jail Annex to await extradition to Philadelphia, Lloyd said.
